Welcome to Riviere Towans waste dump.
Built in breach of Article 41.
The Company appear to be digging in.
When concerns were raised that building compounds beside people’s chalets posed a fire risk, those warnings were dismissed. Now, after commissioning an expensive Fire Risk Assessor, who confirmed exactly that, the structures were suddenly removed.
The construction of large enclosures dominating the site entrance, despite being an eyesore, is also a breach of Article 41, which clearly states that no development can take place without a SPECIAL resolution voted on by the members. This rule exists to protect every owner from having their investment undermined by poorly considered decisions or the preferences of a single individual. The same process was required for the installation of car chargers in the bus turning area, it had to go to the members for a SPECIAL resolution. It failed.
The company should not involve itself in initiatives that do not benefit the entire site. The bin scheme does not. It offers no benefit to owners who already pay Council Tax, nor to those who take responsibility for managing their own waste rather than expecting guests to walk long distances just to dispose of a single bag of rubbish.
It’s also important to acknowledge that not all directors support the company’s involvement in this. Colin Scoble has consistently and openly opposed it, but he is only one voice against the other two.
Support Colin and make it clear that enough is enough. We do not want unattractive bin stores spoiling the natural beauty of Riviere Towans. Every property owner is responsible for their own waste and should remain accountable for it.
The RTA has an extensive list of waste management contractors who will come to your chalet, collect the bags from your bin and take it away. Some will even wash the bin out. All without guest involvement. Please consider joining the RTA.
