I am delighted to report that last night's Hayle Town Council Planning and Transport Committee meeting was an overwhelming success, marking a significant milestone in our campaign. The gathering was not only highly productive but also incredibly well-received by all attendees.

The feedback on the speakers was exceptionally positive. They were lauded for their extensive knowledge, articulate delivery, and the evident passion they demonstrated for the cause. They spoke with great eloquence, effectively conveying the profound impact that the loss of the bus service has had on the Towans community.

A pivotal moment, and indeed the coup de grâce of the evening, came from Ash of Haven. His presentation of compelling data was particularly impactful. He revealed that out of 45,000 visitors, a substantial majority are unlikely to return without a functioning bus service. This powerful insight underscored the critical need for our campaign and was a testament to Ash's excellent work.

Key Decisions and Future Strategy

During the meeting, a key discussion point was the future of the bus service. One councillor suggested a complete review of the entire bus service network. However, the Council, in a wise and strategic move, decided to reject this broader proposal. Instead, they chose to concentrate their efforts on the immediate and crucial goal of reinstating the Towans Bus as a distinct and separate entity. This focused approach is a significant win for our campaign.

The Town Council has officially agreed to draft a petition to the County Council, formally requesting the reinstatement of the service. This decision signals their strong commitment to our cause. A local reporter in attendance expressed a very optimistic view, noting that the campaign has strong momentum and the potential to gain widespread support and attention.
